Anime: 7 Seeds by Yumi Tamura (Season 2)

7 SEEDS Season 2 release date on Netflix confirmed for 2020: Seven ...

This anime is amazing right now and I cannot wait for the third season to release already when the second only came out earlier this year! I binged through this season as well as the first and let me tell you, things have gotten really interesting! The first episode starts the second where the last episode of the first season left off. There's no time skip or anything! If they didn't break this up into two separate seasons, season two came out a whole year after season one, I would've been satisfied with it just being one consecutive season. Nevertheless, this season keeps you on the edge of you seat, keeping you where season one left you.

I'm going to go right ahead and get right into things since there was no break in between the two seasons...

(SPOILER WARNING! START)

So, in the beginning in the first episode Aramaki confronts Ryo with his involvement with Hana's supposed death. Aramaki screams it loud and clear, everyone now knowing what happened to Hana in the cavern. Kurori gets really upset, stating that Ango just stood there and watched as Hana was struggling to hold on, not helping her even though he was the closest with a rope ready. Then Ayu also chimes in that Ango was just trying to cover up his crimes, that he attempted to rape Hana. Aramaki is furious and end up throwing a rock at Ango's hand with amazing accuracy, injuring him.

Everyone is horrified at the knowledge of what Ango tried to do and Ryo and Ango get exiled from the little colony they had, none of the other Team Summer A members going with them.

Soon, we're panned to Hana and the fact that she survived the whirlpool. She starts to survive on her own, making friends with the animals as she goes on. Hana travels all the way to a watering hole, following some horses and after some time there, she gets reunited with Fujiko and Chisa!

7SEEDS | Netflix Official SiteNow that's all for Hana's little arc this season, back to Ryo and Ango... they come across Team Summer B and this is where the majority of season two happens. They end up helping the team get their ship out of the rocks, they had run aground, and end up joining them. Ango ends up viewing Natsu as a substitute for Shigeru and is slightly overprotective of her. Semimaru is not all the happy about that fact, we start to see his feelings for Natsu emerge!

Anyways, Ryo puts the team through trials, similar to what they went through, nearly killing them. During the one with Semimaru, he talked about the fact that he used to be bullied to Natsu, who was the one who brought it up in the first place. I thought it odd since they never spoke about anything like that prior to this moment, now I've just recently read the manga and found out that the anime omits a lot of information. He had told all of the team that he used to be bullied in the manga but that doesn't happen at all in the anime.

7 Seeds' Part 2 ending leaves room for more stories but it's a ...Moving on, after losing Arashi, Ryo's doing of course, they try to find him and come across a huge ship. It was the eighth Fuji! Something that wasn't told to the guides so Botan-san had no idea about it. Their ship gets stuck in the water due to algae, the water is so thick it's similar to cement! All of Summer B decide to explore the big ship, Ango and Ryo going as well, while Chimaki holds down the fort. That's when things go a little wrong...

(SPOILER WARNING! END)

This season was stretched over the one event of Summer B exploring the ship. We do see Hana and what she's up to to break up the mini ship arc, but it mostly focuses on Summer B and their time with Ango and Ryo. During this season, you find out that they aren't so bad after all. Not going to lie though, I hated what those teachers did to Summer A too, I mean who wouldn't? But that does not excuse Ango for what he did to Hana.

I found this season a little more uneventful than the last, but that doesn't mean the season was bad. Far from it actually, I really enjoyed the season, and I loved how Tamura-sensei does the story, the team doesn't always succeed, like how other stories would do. Other stories would have the protagonists struggling and when the situation would start to look hopeless, they miraculously succeed. Not here, they fail and fail again, but they never give up.

I just recently finished reading the manga, so I'll be typing up that review soon as well. But I do really love this story, the manga I do think is much better than the anime, but the anime has its good points too. I still very strongly recommend this anime to anyone who likes a good post-apocalyptic survival story. I am anxiously waiting for season three and you know I am going to try to watch that as soon as it releases!

Hope you guys had fun reading this one! I am absolutely obsessing over 7 Seeds and I think it is definitely worth the praise I am giving it. It's not being talked about as much as other anime out right now like Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and the such but it is most definitely worth a look into. Please leave your comments down below! Have you watched the anime? What did you think about it? I hope everyone is doing well and staying safe! I'll see you guys next week!
